Pathways

I was thinking the other day about how I got to where I am now.  I didn't intend to set out to write a blog about life and work for Amy Webb.  I didn't plan to spent 15 years leading radio training bootcamps.  I didn't intend to teach a graduate level class in New York City, work for community radio, sit on a lot of airplanes or co-create and manage an entrepreneurship program for future start-up moguls.  Nope, there's almost nothing I do now that I established as a goal years ago.

A colleague and great friend has this at the bottom of her e-mail:  "Not all paths are straight and not all meanings are apparent. Enjoy your journey."

Even though I may not have realized it at the time, I did make some clear decisions a year ago that led me to where I am now.  One of them was choosing to continue to ride along with those whom I have been coaching not add new people. I've found it vital that once I've built a relationship, it be maintained. In a world of unexpected surprises and fluctuations, it's one thing that I try to keep stable and unchanged. But it wasn't always so.

Just because you don't have it now, doesn't mean you won't.  Just because your way is not clear, doesn't mean it has to be.

Opportunity always shows itself.  Did you see it?
